Earlier in April, I had the privilege of joining other industry professionals as a panelist a the Health 2.0 Conference, a wonderful event focused on the intersection of technology and healthcare. This year’s theme, The Great Healthcare Shakeup: Technology, Trust, and the Road Ahead, gave an intriguing background for a conversation about the direction the health industry is heading and what it needs to reach there in a responsible and wide-ranging manner.
During the panel, I shared my perspective on how new advances in technology, especially AI, are changing the industry, ranging from workflows and administration to new possibilities for patient engagement and outcomes. It was a very valuable opportunity to explore the promise of these technologies and the many considerations that come with implementing them into a system where trust is necessary.
The experience was also beneficial for what I learned from my fellow panelists, including Kenneth Lim (Kenneth_Lim), Dr. Anne Deatly (Anne_Deatly), Dr. Greg Caldwell (Greg_Caldwell), Dr. Hany Demian (Hany_Demian), and Dr. Deepak Pahuja (Deepak_Pahuja). Their respective thoughts and ideas were helpful in exploring how the new changes in healthcare would involve people from many disciplines, not just doctors or tech companies. From the conference, I gained many new ideas and points of view, and am grateful to have attended Health 2.0 and being able to participate in an environment where important developments can be discussed and important conservations can be had.
